We frequently manage complex patients, but sometimes we have to stop and think WTF is going on!? In this discussion, we walk through how to use cognitive stop points in sick patients and incorporating effective resuscitation communication.

Carl “Chip” Lange is a practicing emergency medicine physician assistant (EMPA) who has worked in the prehospital arena for almost a decade. He believes in providing high quality care no matter the setting and works primarily in rural centers. In his spare time he runs a blog and podcast called TOTAL EM. Special interests include point of care ultrasound (POCUS), critical care, and education.
