Fire Ground Command
This interactive session will examine the primary duties and responsibilities of the Incident Commander with a focus on the Incident Command System and emergency scene communications. Topics covered will include an overview of the Incident Command System, overall incident management, radio communications, and personnel accountability. Through classroom workshops, group exercises and role-playing, attendees will have an opportunity to assume the functions of critical ICS positions to lead assigned personnel and communicate effectively throughout a series of practical scenarios.

Upon completion of this course attendees will feel energized to incorporate necessary change within their organizations, understand the concept of added value and the importance of everyone within an organization operating from the same playbook, and understand the need to think outside the box, which at times may include stretching beyond traditional job descriptions.

Creating A Leadership Mindset Within Your Organization
Leadership is about having influence in your organization. The subject of leadership can be overwhelming and is oftentimes misunderstood. Many people interpret leadership as career advancement or rank. However, leadership is more of a process than a position. Many times, the biggest challenge can be determining what to do and where to begin. This session will outline the different levels of leadership and offer more effective alternatives to the command and control model typically utilized within the fire service.

This session will focus on self-leadership and becoming responsible and accountable to your own self. Furthermore, it will outline the pillars of professional success and will incorporate strategies that will give you the confidence to effectively lead, while providing you with perspectives on personal accountability and self-leadership that will motivate you to create a personal legacy you can be proud of. The concepts explored in this session apply to all who work in the emergency services industry and can be applied to both professional and personal areas of our lives
