  • Certificates in Dementia Care from Rush Medical Center-Chicago and University of Chicago

  • Certified Dementia Care Specialist

  • Developed the first Alzheimer’s ability-based program at the Medical Center of Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey

  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist since 1985

  • National speaker and educator on care related topics including person and ability centered care

  • Lead instructor and coordinator of the Activity Director’s Course, Professional Care Givers Course at both Harper and Triton Colleges

  • Recipient of the Cynthia Pier-Round Award for outstanding Customer Service, Comprehensive

       Therapeutics

  • Recipient of the Illinois Therapeutic Recreation Society Affiliate Award 

  • National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), member for 35 years
